My name is Mrs Sue Evans and I am the Home-School Tutoring Advisor for the North-West Derbyshire Dales Area.
I provide tutors for all mainstream subjects throughout the Derbyshire Dales from Matlock to Bakewell with enquiries from as far as Buxton and The Hope Valley. Tutors show professionalism and care for all students. My service extends towards Alfreton, Belper to include Ashbourne with surrounding rural areas accessing tuition from me also. I
also provide tuition to Mansfield and its surround areas.
My main service is concentrated in the provision of extra exam support at all levels, but I also provide SEN specialist tutors and more relaxed tutoring arrangements for children and adults.
I offer a personal service where your needs will be addressed and the right tutor sought for the job.
If you’re looking for a tutor either for yourself or for someone who needs tuition, please tell me about your tutoring requirements using the Tutoring Enquiry form.
It helps to give as much detail as you can, so that I can assess your needs and your specific requirements and preferences. I will then do my best to personally recommend the most suitable tutor to you from my team of local tutors.
If you are a qualified teacher, tutor or graduateliving in this Area , I invite you to register with us. Please get in touch using the Become a Tutor form.
Tutors are always required to tutor Maths and Sciences at GCSE and A level in particular, tutors of other subjects are welcome to register.
Tutors of Maths and Sciences at GCSE and A level urgently required in Matlock, Belper, Ashbourne and Mansfield.

Sue Evans is our Home-School Tutoring Area Advisor for the National Forest/Derby area – and her area also includes Lichfield and Tamworth in Staffordshire. Sue is a well -qualified English teacher with experience of all sectors of education. She is also an examiner for two of the examination boards, as well as a part-time supply teacher.
Sue is passionate about tutoring as she finds it develops confidence and enables students to reach their full potential. Her husband, Richard, also tutors in science subjects and finds it really worthwhile.
Sue’s other interest and ‘specialist subject’, is growing orchids. She also volunteers at Twycross Zoo (helping the visitors, not the animals!) Both she and Richard both also enjoy dog walking and birdwatching in the National Forest.
In her Home-School Tutoring role, Sue is dedicated to helping each student with their individual needs and ambitions. When you phone this area, either she or Richard will answer the phone. They keep a growing register of qualified and empathetic tutors for all subjects and levels, all well experienced to help with your needs; they will be pleased to help you.
Each Home-School Tutoring Area seeks experienced, qualified teachers and graduates who can be available as tutors. Enjoy seeing your pupils develop confidence and make progress.
