Key Stage 3: Ages 11–14

At key stage 3, many children may be struggling to adapt to a new school, new classmates and new subjects. Before children get underway with the GCSE syllabus at key stage 4, most parents will want to ensure the necessary foundations for GCSE success are in place.

Pressure-free tutoring at key stage 3 can help boost confidence and progress if children are having difficulties, and help ensure secondary school is an enjoyable experience with positive outcomes.

Stress-free learning

During the pre-teens and early teens, we understand the stresses and anxieties  many children feel. Our home tutors aim to provide pressure-free, patient tuition at a pace set by the pupil. Through enjoyable tuition, our KS3 tutors will help your child develop the skills and understanding that will set them up for success in their GCSEs and beyond.

Support for all subjects

Our tutors can support all areas of learning at this stage including:

  • English
  • maths
  • science
  • history
  • geography
  • modern foreign languages
  • design and technology
  • art and design
  • music
  • computing

If teacher assessments have uncovered any difficulties your child is having, one-to-one tuition can help resolve any underlying issues or gaps in knowledge or understanding.

English tutors or maths tutors are most in demand at this stage, as extra support for literacy or numeracy skills at this stage can give make a tremendous difference.

Entrance exams including the 13+ Common Entrance and scholarships

Our KS3 tutors are happy to help students to prepare for the Common Entrance exam at 13+, other entrance exams and scholarship exams. For more information contact your Area Advisor.

Whichever school your child is headed for, if they are bright and enjoy additional intellectual stimulation or have interests outside of their school curriculum, you may also like to consider private tuition to help stretch them and realise their potential.
