One parent and an idea for a local business..
Home-School Tutoring UK began as a small local business when Margaret Sweetland, a practising qualified teacher, and mother of three young children, saw that there was a need for personal and caring one-to-one tuition outside the classroom. So many children and pupils of all ages were trying to overcome various issues, pressures and difficulties in their learning and she wanted to give extra support and target the struggles they were facing in the classroom.
She built a team of local tutors to offer private tuition in the home..
Margaret then went on to build her own team of local tutors who were all specialists in their own subjects and expertise and between them they offered home tuition to students for a wide variety of needs ; enabling them to learn at their own pace and in the comfort of their own home.
It grew into an established, trusted, sought after local tutoring agency…
They began by offering tutoring to the local community and schools, which soon grew into an established, trusted and sought after local tutoring agency, with a full register of professional and high-quality tutors.
We now cover over 40 areas across the UK…
Over the past 30 years, Home-School Tutoring has grown from strength to strength and now covers over 40 areas across the UK. We gradually hope to cover all the UK.
Still with a local presence and offering a personal service..
Margaret, the founder, always wanted to maintain the local and personal service and so each area is run as an associate business of Home-School Tutoring UK, with it’s own business owner and tutor manager , known as the Area Advisor.
We are really proud of our success over the past 30 years..
We are really proud to have helped so many students over the past 30 years. We have helped students of all ages and of all abilities to overcome challenges with their learning; to achieve greater outcomes and academic success and to improve their confidence through patient, pressure-free and ( very importantly) enjoyable tuition. Most of us learn at our own pace and so often the skill of learning is is taking small steps of understanding and building confidence in that learning. We continue to expand and maintain our enthusiasm for life-long learning and hope that we enthuse every student we come across.
