Home-School Tutoring Bath: Who are we and what can we offer?

Home-School Tutoring Bath is a local tuition organisation delivering privately paid for and AP and EOTAS services run by Cora Griffiths and Helen Manly - both experienced and fully qualified teachers and parents. We are passionate about education and very aware of the different ways we all absorb learning and the importance of teaching to inspire and build self-confidence.

We have a team of local tutors, including specialists in teaching the primary age range and others who specialise in teaching at secondary level and beyond in a wide range of national curriculum subjects. By taking a bespoke approach, our tutors are able to identify and teach to each individual’s ‘hook’. By finding what inspires our students, we are able to break down barriers to learning and facilitate progress.

At Home-School Tutoring Bath we are able to support children and young people who are either attending school or accessing their education through alternative provision or EOTAS. We can come to students’ homes as well as providing tuition within schools, colleges, charities and other organisations.

We know all of our clients and tutors well; we take a very hands-on approach and are able to provide a student centred service, ensuring supportive and effective tuition for all.

If you think we can help, please do get in touch.

If you are a family wanting to privately fund tutoring support for your child, please get in touch with Cora

Tutoring in all subjects and all levels

We aim to offer tutoring in as many subjects as possible for the various different levels and for the aspects that are needed.  This includes the main core subjects of English, literacy, Maths , besides all other school and college subjects.  The list of subjects and levels of study which we cover as a whole organisation can be seen above under ' Under Us ' along the main tool bar, but these are just general lists.  Sometimes you may need a particular specific aspect of learning so do please ask.

To teachers, tutors and graduates: I'm always seeking more excellent teachers and tutors to join my team of skilled, committed educators throughout the Bath area who want to personally help and encourage children and students of all ages with their learning.

In particular, we need excellent tutors to help with English, maths, science subjects, basic literacy and numeracy as well as exam preparation, entrance exams, GCSEs and A level subjects.

My own speciality is  teaching and tutoring special needs, and I am needing teachers with similar experience and background to help provide for all the pupils who need that extra help.

Please contact me using the form below or using the contact details above. We will then be able to send you more details and the full registration form.

We really look forward to welcoming you!

Getting a maths tutor for Year 11 has helped my son enormously. His tutor is amazing. She makes the sessions enjoyable, she explains maths in a way he can understand and has been building up his confidence. In just a few months, he’s moved from a predicted GCSE score of 5 to being awarded a 7 (A) in the mock exam. We’re very happy. (Lou, parent – Maths – GCSE, year 11 – Combe Down)

The tutoring sessions are going very well. Dan is enjoying them, and I believe that they are having a positive impact on his confidence. (Lucy, parent – Maths – year 7 – Newbridge)

Sarah is a very caring, approachable and supportive teacher. She makes her tutee feel comfortable around her and is very amenable. I would recommend her to anyone. (Carol, parent – English – GCSE, year 10 – Oldfield Park)

Leo thoroughly enjoys all of his sessions with Lucy and looks forward to visiting on a weekly basis, often telling us once he finishes that he has just had the best lesson of the day!(Mother of Leo, Bath)

My daughter has gained huge confidence in just a handful of lessons

My daughter has moved up a sub-level after only a handful of lessons with Jacqui and has gained a huge amount of confidence in maths. I’m excited about her progress in the months to come. (Mother of Holly, Bath , Maths Year 9)

Better than expected results in GCSE English literature and language!

We had Michelle come to our home to teach two of my children English Language/Literature in preparation for their IGCSE exams in January 2018. She came once a week for 14 weeks and shared so many wonderful techniques and tools to help them. She was so helpful and always kept me informed on their progress and suggested ways that I could help them during the week. We are delighted to share that their exam results were so much better than expected! My older son achieved A* in both the Language and Literature and my daughter achieved a B in both! She is 14. (Parents of son & daughter, Bath)
