High standards for tutoring

Home-School Tutoring is a Corporate Member of The Tutor’s Association (TTA), which seeks to promote tutoring as a profession and create a recognisable standard for excellence across the tuition industry.

At Home-School Tutoring East Anglia, we are keen to uphold the professional and ethical standards Home-School Tutoring has always had, and which are fully in line with TTA.

We have therefore also signed up this region as a Corporate Member of TTA and I encourage my register of excellent tutors to join as individual members.

We are actively looking for new tutors in these areas. For more information or to apply to register, please read and complete the Become a Tutor form.

There are many tutors on the register who are able to support and enhance the education received in school or college, especially when it comes to preparation for examinations. There are tutors who can teach subjects from scratch or who can help guide students through distance learning packages. If you need intensive input to help catch up with a particular subject, are struggling with essay and question technique or need to gain certain grades to achieve your aims, we hope to be able to provide the tutor for the job.

Whatever your tutoring or study needs, do contact us via the web-form and we'll do our very best to help.

You may be sure that all the tutors on the register have been DBS and reference checked. Their qualifications to tutor in the subjects they offer will have been verified. The majority of tutors are qualified teachers and those who don't have a teaching qualification will be highly qualified in their field and be experienced one-to-one tutors.

Cambridgeshire has its challenges in terms of the distance between the major towns, where most tutors are situated. It can be helpful to take a flexible approach and consider online tutoring and telephone support in addition to face-to-face sessions. It may also be helpful to consider a two-hour session on a less frequent basis as opposed to an hour at a time.

Tutor’s fees range from £30 to £55 depending upon the tutor, subject and level taught, as well as the distance the tutor has to travel. If a tutor has to travel over 30 minutes (excluding traffic jams) an additional time charge may apply.

It may be possible to offer discounts depending upon the frequency with which you book sessions. It is helpful for us to know if you have a budget limit or particular time scale to which you are working. In fact, the more we know, the better we can meet your requirements.

We seek to offer a personal service, tailored to your needs. We trust your experience of Home-School Tutoring will be positive and prove an invaluable educational support.

Each Home-School Tutoring Area seeks experienced, qualified teachers and graduates who can be available as tutors. Enjoy seeing your pupils develop confidence and make progress.

We aim for high standards

As a self-employed tutor you are rewarded well for your tuition both in terms of remuneration and in satisfaction. You are valued by our organisation and by your clients.

We particularly need more primary school teachers for special educational needs and basic numeracy and literacy and more teachers of Mathematics, English and Sciences at GCSE and Advanced Level but ALL tutors are welcome. Do join us!
