Private tuition is sometimes referred to as the ‘shadow education system’. As the popularity of private tuition increases, so do the number of tuition agencies, which can make it very difficult to know where to start finding a good local tutor.
It’s a good job Home-School Tutoring is here to help!
Tutoring since 1984
Home School Tutoring (HST) has over 30 years of success and experience in private tutoring. Unlike some agencies, we have local area advisors who personally approve their tutors and who have a solid grasp of their local education system. Our Area Advisors are passionate about what they do, provide sound advice and ensure their clients are matched with their most suitable tutor. Parents feel secure that education is at the heart of everything that we do.
Outstanding tutors
The best private tutors tend to be attracted to the best tuition agencies and we are privileged to have some really outstanding tutors on our registers.
When comparing tuition agencies, we also pride ourselves on the fact that all of our tutors are carefully vetted. We feel this is very important and so do our tutors. Each tutor must obtain an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate and we also take up references. Area Advisors develop a working relationship with the tutors in their area and gain feedback from parents. That’s how we can be sure we are offering tutors who share our values rather than simply picking names from a list.
