We provide effective, supportive, bespoke tuition either face-to-face or online.

Our fully vetted, qualified and experienced teaching professionals are on hand to assist with your, or your child’s, learning. We provide effective tuition for all subjects, abilities and ages, from Early Years Foundation Stage up to Degree level qualifications. We can also help with Entrance Examinations (9+, 11+ and 13+) and Home Schooling.  We create individually tailored lessons and our goal is that our tuition sessions are engaging, encouraging and enjoyable in order to accelerate progress. We can do assessments alongside tuition as well as provide progress reports and self-study resources.

    Hi, I am Kate and I would like to welcome to the Cardiff Region of Home-School Tutoring. The Cardiff Region covers Cardiff, The Vale of Glamorgan, Bridgend, Caerphilly and Rhondda Cynon Taff and we offer in-person  tutoring or on-line tutoring.   We have a team of wonderful tutors and we can offer all subjects, levels and ages.  

    Being the Area Advisor and Tutor Manager for Home-School Tutoring is the perfect role for me. I love to see pupils make progress and I am so aware of the different ways that we all absorb learning. 

    What I particularly love about being an Area Advisor and Tutor Manager for Home School Tutoring is to be able to help students and parents alike by providing the ‘best fit’ of tutor who is most suited to the needs of the child, student or adult.

    As well as being a qualified teacher, I am also a parent of two teenage boys.  I have sought the help of tutors myself and without a reputable agency and recommendation of tutors who have references and all the necessary checks, it is difficult to find tutors in a safe and secure way.

    I have always had an interest in the Arts and regularly go the theatre with my husband Keith and my boys. We particularly enjoy musicals and have seen shows here in Cardiff and in Bristol and London. I also enjoy walking and being outdoors enjoying the countryside. Education enhances the whole of life!

    I live in the area and with my colleague Amanda, we pride ourselves on recruiting a team of tutors in this region who share our passion for learning and who adapt their tutoring to the student’s individual needs and requirements.

    We are more than happy with the tutoring our daughter is receiving. The tutor is just superb. Calm, quiet and informative, she is clear and concise in her explanations, is helping our daughter to work through problems calmly and rationally without getting into a major downward spiral, as she was prone to do in the past if unsure about something, is teaching her exam techniques and more importantly is installing a degree of confidence in her that was very apparently missing before the Tutor started working with her.
     
    The added bonus for us, and something that was a priority for us when looking for a tutor for our daughter is of course that the Tutor can provide tutoring through the medium of Welsh. Our daughter attends a Welsh language Secondary school so a Welsh speaker was high on the wish list, though being realistic we weren’t sure if it would be possible to find someone that could provide that added support. So we were thrilled with the fact that a Welsh speaker was available and willing to travel a considerable distance to tutor our daughter.
     
    However, the Tutor is such a excellent tutor, even if she couldn’t teach our daughter  through the Welsh language, we would still feel as if we had struck gold. When your child is actually enjoying studying a subject they previously detested, and is looking forward to their Weekly tutorial session then you can’t ask for any more than that. 
     
    So far, in our experience I don’t think it's possible for any improvements to be made. We have such a excellent and experienced Tutor that we are more than happy with. The Tutor lives quite a distance from us, so we are aware that it’s a lengthy car journey for her to come and work with our daughter, and we are very appreciative to her for doing so. 
     
    Also a big thanks to Kate for matching us with the Tutor in the first place, and for all her support and advice. I was very dubious that a Welsh speaking tutor could be found for our daughter, especially one of such a high standard as the Tutor we have, so I’m truly grateful to Kate for all her hard work, and for her quick response if I need to ask something or need her help. I am so glad that I made that initial phone call to Kate at HST, my, and my child’s experience with HST has been so positive thanks to the professionalism and diligence of Kate.
