Tutors for all subjects and levels
Hello, I’m Steve Clarke and I’m the Area Advisor for Home-School Tutoring in Buckinghamshire.
I’ve been a Private Tutor of Mathematics for many years, specialising in GCSE and A level, including Further Maths. I recently retired as a Maths and Computer Science teacher at an independent boarding school.
Many of my students come through personal recommendation, and I often return to teach the siblings of former students. I’ve always had a passion for maths and pride myself on building confidence, enjoyment and a deeper understanding of the subject in my students.
Our tutors at Home-School Tutoring Bucks share a common desire to see students grow, work towards their individual goals and achieve their full potential. A good tutor builds a good working relationship with a student, and our lessons are flexible and personalised to meet a student’s personal needs. It is always a great pleasure for me, to identify the best tutor to meet the specific learning needs of each student.
Whether you are considering hiring a tutor for your child or yourself, whether you are a tutor or teacher who shares the aims of Home School Tutoring and would like to offer your services in this region, please contact me today!
Tutoring in all subjects and all levels
We aim to offer tutoring in as many subjects and levels as possible. For all ages and levels. Please ask!
Steve ensures that the private tutors registered with Home-School Tutoring in Buckinghamshire understand the schooling system here and the differences between Milton Keynes and the rest of the county, since Milton Keynes doesn’t have a grammar school system.
Tutoring is provided for students from secondary schools across the county, such as Shenley Brook End and Ousedale in Milton Keynes, Aylesbury Grammar and Sir Henry Floyed in Aylesbury, RGS High Wycombe, and Stowe School and the Royal Latin in Buckingham, as well as students from:
- Primary schools
- Independent schools / entrance exams
- Adult education
- Home-Schooled pupils or those having home education for a short period
All subjects can be offered in each area at all key stages, including for: primary level, entrance exams, SATs, the Common Entrance, GCSE, A level and pre-university or undergraduate level.
Steve also has a team of experienced and qualified Special Needs tutors in Buckinghamshire whom are passionate about helping students find enjoyment in learning. They understand the challenges that are faced with special needs and aim to reduce these obstacles with patient and supportive tuition tailored to their needs.
We look forward to hearing from you!
“We have had a really positive experience with tutors via Home School Tutoring. We were already using tutors for maths and science. When lock down occurred I was hugely relieved that Steve was able to find us another excellent tutor for English and History. With our son’s academic year still looking so uncertain I am comforted in the knowledge that we are giving him the best possible chance of doing well in his GCSEs.”
“I am very pleased to say that xxx is getting on really well with your tutor. There is a noticeable improvement in her ability when it comes to maths, and it’s only been 4 months.”
“We started tuition today and my son is very excited from the first day lesson. I wanted to thank you for all of your help and cooperation”
“Hi Steve, I’m delighted to report that it’s all going wonderfully with xxx. She looks forward to the lessons and is still very enthusiastic afterwards, so you’ve picked another great fit. Thank you very much!”
“Just to say she enjoyed her lesson last night and said she learnt more with you in 1 hour than she’s done in school in 2 weeks!”
“We were extremely pleased with the tutoring and this definitely improved xxx’s understanding and boosted her confidence.”
“Since meeting Steve, we have constantly passed his details on to any of our friends in need of tutoring. We could not recommend him more highly. He is an amazing teacher and a lovely person to spend time with.”
“xxx was a brilliant tutor who helped me build me confidence in the subject. He supported me in finding me areas of weakness and then gave me the skills I needed to improve in them. He has an amazing knowledge of the subject which allowed him to explain harder topics in more detail.”
“Very thorough when explaining topics I am unsure of. xxx goes through a specific topic in detail, making sure that I understand the theory behind the maths – as this leads to a more comprehensive understanding of a topic. He has greatly supplemented my curriculum work and aided me in gaining a sound knowledge of mathematics and enhance problem solving skills, as well as pushing me to obtain the highest grades I could possibly achieve.”
“Your tutor was kind, patient and helpful. She made maths fun for my son and was patient with him when he doubted his own ability”.
“Your tutor’s help and advice have been invaluable to us. I doubt we’d have been able to manage without her.” “Thank you very much for enabling my son to achieve more than he thought he could and improving his confidence within the two subjects business and maths.”
“Yes, we would like to continue with your tutor. She has been amazing.”
“Your tutor put my daughter at ease straight away. She clearly understood what has been causing my daughter difficulties in school. She got to know her and understand her weaknesses and then support her in the best way”.
“Just to let you know my son got an “A”! Thank you for all the work you did with him.”
“I’d just like to thank you so much. I’m very proud! I got a “B” with your help.”
