I’m a dedicated and enthusiastic professional and educator. I have had extensive experience of working as a modern foreign languages teacher, as well as being Head of Department in two secondary schools and have also worked as a Senior Examiner for a national examination board for many years.

With my team of tutors, between us we aim to offer all subjects and levels of tutoring that are requested or I search for someone who can help you. We give individually tailored lessons and we aim that all lessons we give are engaging and encouraging , which really helps all students to make progress and enjoy their learning. Loving to learn, combined with a good sense of humour is often a great path to success!
I’m always happy to listen and advise on all aspects of tutoring and home education. I have a thorough knowledge of the national curriculum and I always work to support the school in aiding your child’s development.

“I would totally recommend Sue for KS3 English tuition”
“Susan has been brilliant with our son, whilst supporting him with his KS3 English and handwriting. She’s been amazing, particularly with a non linear learner who is bright, however finds writing a challenge. I would totally recommend Susan, she really was ideal for my son’s learning needs.”

Engaged in Biology and Maths
“Things are going really well with Sarah and Sally. Sarah has only been twice so far but she is getting used to Jack and his ways. Sally is superb and really has got Jack engaged in his Biology and Maths. He has been looking at cells, construction of flowers, dissecting them and today they were looking inside seeds. He’s loving it. It’s so nice to see him working and enjoying it.” (Parent of Jack, Cornwall)
A ‘thank you’ to Tutor Teddy!
“My son Ed met with Teddy before Christmas as a get together session. That went very well. We have already seen progress after just one paid tutoring session. The school teacher asked in class this week if anyone knew the formula for something and Ed was able to answer above everyone else (he’d covered this specific topic with Teddy this week!). The teacher gave a knowing smile apparently! So, in answer to your question about how things are going – fab, thank you.” (Mother of Ed, Cornwall)
Seen a big improvement ( 7 year old boy – literacy and English)
“One of the Home-School Tutoring Cornwall Tutors, Penny, has been helping our 7 year old son with his reading and writing for the last few months. He had fallen behind because of undiagnosed sight problems and was not enjoying English lessons at school. Since Penny has been coming, we have seen a big improvement in William’s ability and also his enthusiasm for reading and writing. Penny is very patient, encouraging and puts a lot of effort into making William’s lessons fun. Thank you!” Susi, mother of William
