At Home-School Tutoring Devon, we provide high-quality private tuition tailored to the individual needs of each learner. We offer both face-to-face and online tutoring across Devon, supporting children, teenagers and adult learners across a wide range of subjects and abilities.
As Area Director for Home-School Tutoring Devon, I personally work with families to understand their child’s strengths, challenges and goals before carefully matching them with a suitable tutor. We believe effective tuition is about more than simply covering content - it is about building confidence, developing understanding and helping learners feel supported.
Our tutors include qualified teachers, experienced tutors and subject specialists who provide support from Early Years and primary level through to GCSE, A Level, Functional Skills and adult education. We also offer support for SATs, 11+ and entrance examinations, home education and specialist subject tuition.
We understand that every learner is different. Some students need help filling gaps in knowledge, while others may need support with confidence, motivation, anxiety or learning differences such as dyslexia or SEND-related needs. Tuition is carefully adapted to suit the individual learner’s pace, personality and learning style.
We provide tuition across subjects including English, maths, science, humanities, languages and exam preparation. Our aim is to create engaging, encouraging and effective sessions that help students make meaningful progress and feel more confident in their learning.
All tutors are fully vetted and references and enhanced DBS checks are obtained as part of our safeguarding procedures.

A mum's story of her son's Maths progress
This mother in Exeter filled in our on-line form a year ago asking for a Maths tutor for her 14 year old son " He really struggles with maths, and with his GCSEs fast approaching, I think one to one tuition could really benefit him"
Ben, her son, was supplied with one of our tutors (Peter) and he has been tutored until March 2020. The tutoring was stopped because his grades had significantly improved and his mother wrote again to tell us:
