Our fully vetted, qualified and experienced teaching professionals are on hand to assist with your, or your child’s, learning. We provide effective tuition for all subjects, abilities and ages, from Early Years Foundation Stage up to Degree level qualifications. We can also help with Entrance Examinations (9+, 11+ and 13+) and Home Schooling. We create individually tailored lessons and our goal is that our tuition sessions are engaging, encouraging and enjoyable in order to accelerate progress. We can do assessments alongside tuition as well as provide progress reports and self-study resources.

Welcome to the page for Home-School Tutoring Devon. My name is Vicky and I am the Area Advisor for this region. I have a team of qualified, enthusiastic and specialist tutors registered in this region and we are ready to help you.

About me: I am a fully qualified teacher with more than twenty years’ experience of education and tuition. My family and I have lived in this area for fifteen years so I am very familiar with the region and with schools in the area. Tutoring is an opportunity to build confidence, foster enjoyment of learning and inspire pupils to be the best that they can be.

As tutors, we value the scope for changing a pupil’s negative feelings for a subject being so great. Witnessing the joy a pupil experiences when they realise they can do something that they often have been struggling with for a long time, is a thrill that few other occupations can provide.

Each family is different and each child unique- my team and I are able to meet a learner wherever they are on their learning journey, break down individual barriers to learning and foster a new-found confidence in their place. All of my team have undergone thorough checks to ensure that they are adequately qualified and experienced for the task in hand. They all hold an enhanced DBS check and are insured for the work they are undertaking.

Home-School Tutoring Devon would be delighted to support your child or young person through their educational journey by offering bespoke, one-to-one tuition wherever they need support the most. Our support is not limited to young people either; adults wishing to further their own learning are also very welcome to get in touch with us for tuition. Our excellent team of tutors can, between them, offer tuition from Early Years Foundation Stage right through to A-levels and beyond in a wide range of subject areas. We also can help with entrance exams, with special educational needs and with English as an additional language. Just ask about any particular tutoring help needed. We offer face-to-face and online tuition in a range of settings from a pupil’s home to schools, other educational establishments and other organisations.

Tutoring in all subjects for all levels

We aim to offer tutoring in as many subjects and levels as possible. Whichever tuition subject you would like help with, please ask! ( online tutoring also offered).

We provide supportive private tuition for children and adults of all ages aim from key stage 1 in primary school through to GCSEs, A Levels and beyond.

Subjects offered include:

English language and literature
Maths (all levels) including further maths
Science including biology, physics, chemistry
Languages: French, Spanish, German, Latin, Chinese and many more
History, geography
Business studies and computing
Special needs and learning problems including dyslexia

We also provide tutoring for Common Entrance exams, 11 plus and other school entrance exams.

Pupils who need particular help with learning difficulties also benefit greatly from receiving help from one of our specialist tutors. I assure you that we do our best to find you a tutor who is ideal for what is needed.

We are also pleased to provide our tutors to schools who are able to fund tutors for specific needs.

A mum's story of her son's Maths progress

This mother in Exeter filled in our on-line form a year ago asking for a Maths tutor for her 14 year old son " He really struggles with maths, and with his GCSEs fast approaching, I think one to one tuition could really benefit him"

Ben, her son, was supplied with one of our tutors (Peter) and he has been tutored until March 2020. The tutoring was stopped because his grades had significantly improved and his mother wrote again to tell us:

“ At the start, my son’s self-confidence was low and Maths was baffling, uninteresting and like a foreign language.
