Hello, I’m Joy your Area Advisor and Tutor Manager for North-West London ( please see the areas covered tab).
I have worked in some prestigious London Independent schools and colleges in senior positions and I bring that experience with me to run this North-West Area of Home-School Tutoring.
For several years, I was a school Governor and I’m currently Chair of Governors in a local Junior School and Vice Chair in the neighbouring Infant School. These positions give me an excellent overview of the national curriculum and the changes taking place at each Key Stage.
I’ve also had the responsibility of giving many students advice about University entrance and have helped many students apply successfully for competitive courses like medicine and dentistry. My own subject speciality is Chemistry A level ( I offer tutoring myself). I love my subject and I really enjoy teaching it.
I have a passion for caring for students’ well being and I believe that building students resilience can be the key to helping them perform their best. Many of my students stay in touch with me and I take much pleasure in hearing about their success. I’m committed to ensuring the academic development of pupils of all ages and abilities whilst contributing to their pastoral care.
We look forward to helping you
This is a personal service and I take a personal interest in every tutoring enquiry and in every tutor in my local team. I keep in regular contact with my tutors and I assure you I can recommend a specific tutor to you with confidence. We want you to feel safe with Home School Tutoring and be assured of our commitment to you.
Please contact me and let me know how you would like us to help you with your tutoring needs. You can either complete the Enquiry Form below or contact me by email or phone.

Joy explains things in a way that the teachers at school don’t, making the lessons easy to understand
Since Joy has been tutoring Zoe her confidence levels have really improved. She now has a much better understanding of the subject. Joy explains things in a way that the teachers at school don’t, making the lessons easy to understand and by explaining the method in a simpler way Zoe can now put this into practise.
Joy is utterly professional. Always going the extra mile with her tutoring. From the swift response to my first inquiry to the hourly lessons we have nothing but praise for Joy and Home School Tutoring. We would definitely recommend them. It has made such a difference to Zoe attitude towards science.
