Welcome to HOME-SCHOOL TUTORING (TWICKENHAM AND RICHMOND).
My name is Nicola and I am the Area Advisor for Home School Tutoring in the London Twickenham and Richmond regions. Having taught in local schools and also tutored for Home-School Tutoring for some years in this area, I am delighted to be the Advisor and Tutor Manager for this region.
We cover Twickenham, Richmond, St Margarets, Isleworth, Hampton , Teddington Feltham, Whitton, Sunbury, Kingston-upon-Thames and the surrounding areas. I love helping students of all ages and I am regularly registering more tutors to join my local tutor team of good teachers and tutors. Together, we offer students personal tuition in many different subjects and levels of tutoring and other special learning services too. We aim to provide our clients with tutoring that helps build confidence and progress and suited to their own individual learning styles, whatever the situation.
A little more about myself as your regional Home-School Tutoring Area Advisor: I have been teaching and tutoring for over 20 years and have worked in both mainstream and special education, primary and secondary. I have also worked in alternative education settings such as a children’s hospital, and provisions for children who are too ill to attend school or who have been excluded. Throughout my varied work I have become passionate about teaching 1:1 and have seen the progress that can be made with individualised learning when personal learning styles are identified.
I also know, as a parent, how difficult and stressful it can be to observe your child struggle or appear to be making little progress, whatever their age. My own son has had some wonderful teachers in our fantastic local schools and it has been great to observe his development through them identifying his needs.
To tutors or teacher in this region: I look for tutors who are committed and passionate, So that we can appropriately match our tutors to the needs of students, we need more to join our team. If you would like to become one of our tutors please do contact me or complete the enquiry Form. We are needing more tutors in all subjects and of all levels.
To parents and all clients: if you are looking for a tutor please get in touch. We help our clients and students best when we know more about the tuition that is needed and the aspects of learning that need to be tackled, so when you contact me or fill in the initial enquiry Form on this page, please let me know as much as possible about your specific needs or requirements, so that I can recommend the most suitable tutor(s) to you.
I look forward to hearing from you.

My son’s confidence has massively improved and that has meant his behaviour has improved as he is more happy and engaged.
Our daughter is noticeably improving at school and she loves her weekly sessions! (Key stage 1)
“Hannah Finch is amazing. My 6 year old daughter loves her weekly sessions and surprisingly looks forward to them (she is less enthusiastic about learning with us!). Hannah is always well prepared and seems to have a good teaching pace to keep it exciting with no boredom. Our daughter is noticeabely improving at school. ( Parent testimonial)
My son looks forward to his sessions and the tutors are very professional and incredibly knowledgeable in their subjects. ( GCSE student)
“I was in a last minute panic getting my son ready for GCSEs and he has two tutors through Home-School Tutoring and both have been very intelligent and incredibly knowledgable in their subjects as well as being very professional and, most importantly, my son has got on really well with them both and actually looks forward to his sessions. I am really impressed with everything including the overall service and the speed at which the tutors were sorted for me. Very happy and would highly recommend Home-School Tutoring to anyone who’s kids need some extra help!” ( Parent testimonial)
My son is happy and has gained confidence in Maths
“I wanted to say thank you for the tutor you found for my son. She is brilliant, covers all the aspects of maths and statistics. My son had his statistics tests and was happy how he did. All thanks to Binny, our tutor. I regularly receive feedback from Binny on my son’s progress and this shows how serious, with full responsibility Binny deals with her students. My son is happy and gained confidence in maths. Thank you so much.” ( Parent testimonial)
Our son responded so well to the tutor
“The tutoring provided for our son ( who has autism) has been so helpful. We have seen such a change in him. Having been bullied at the school he attended, he was so unhappy and unable to read at all. In fact he was even unwilling to try. Nicola, our tutor managed to get him reading by the end of the year and this allowed him to access all his learning. There has been such a change in his attitude , behaviour and learning, thank you.” (Parent, Kew)
Thanks to the wonderful tutor for helping her so much with her GCSE
“My daughter had been suffering from ME for two years and was also dyslexic and struggled with written work. Thanks to the wonderful tutor for helping her so much with her GCSE and building such a good relationship with her. (Grateful parent, English GCSE tuition – Barnes)
The tutor built such a rapport with him that in year 6 he ended up achieving a great result in his SATS ( Year 6)
“By the special one-to one tutoring given to my son in primary school, he has come on brilliantly. In fact the tutor built such a rapport with him that in year 6 he ended up achieving a great result in his SATS and feeling ready to go to secondary school. (Parent in Kew, London)
Such a patient, kind tutor , thank you
“The tutor provided to us is a gem! She is kind, patient, calm and understanding and our children respond so well to her.” (Parent, Richmond )
Art lessons were wonderful!
“Nicola came to us twice a week as a tutor to support my son’s on-line art course. Nicola’s empathy and understanding towards his very particular style was excellent! My son progressed steadily and was able to develop and explore his skills with a new found confidence that he found with Nicola’s support. We really hope to have her here again. (Parent – Art lessons –Twickenham)
