To Contact Kim H. Catling
Please complete the email form below.
My name is Kim Catling. I am married with a son, and being at home with him gave me the fantastic opportunity to become the Home-School Tutoring Advisor for Northamptonshire!
I have been working within the education system for the last ten years, 8 of which I have spent as a teacher of English at Huxlow Science College in Irthlingborough. My own personal teaching experience is teaching English within Key Stages 3, 4 and 5. I have always aimed for a high standard of teaching and am incredibly proud of my consistently high GCSE results.
I am also an experienced private tutor and actually began working with Home-School Tutoring 12 years ago as an English graduate from Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge. I then went on to do my Post Graduate Certificate in Education at Keele University in Staffordshire.
I am looking for more tutors in this area to tutor in their own specialist level or subject. We need tutors for all ages, levels and subjects; tutors who aim for a consistently high standard of tutoring and who will tutor with enthusiasm and encouragement.
We aim to coax the most reluctant of students into achieving and succeeding – this is by far the most rewarding aspect of teaching and tutoring. I have links with many excellent teachers and tutors in Northamptonshire who would be happy to help you or your child achieve every success.
I look forward to hearing from tutors who would like to join our register in the area. I also look forward to helping pupils and students in this region, in whatever subject or level you need help.
Please complete the enquiry form on this page, providing as much detail as possible, or call or email me.

Recent Testimonials: Some encouraging success stories!
” Dear Kim, I am glad to report that the session is in progress and that both children seem to be taking well to the content and delivery. Christine has a lovely teaching method. Many thanks. Kindest Regards Vijay Paul.”
Well, here we are again , well into this year’s tutoring and so many pupils worried about their progress . We can help you ! Enquiries are coming in thick and fast from both potential new tutors and tutees alike. The success stories that I would like to share with you is what makes tutoring all worthwhile.
Special thanks to Mrs Kim Pinney who joined me after retiring from Kingthorpe Community College this year. She is currently my most busy tutor. Also, a big welcome to the following tutors who have signed up and are ready and waiting for their first tutoring opportunities: Mr Steve Whitmill, Mrs Edwina Cutler, Elizabeth Foster and Lucie Howard.

Feedback from past students
I have had several students contact me again regarding tuition after their summer break, which is a great feeling.
I received this lovely message from a student I have been supporting within school:
“Thank you so much for your help with English. My confidence has really improved and without you I don’t know where I’d be.” She is in her GCSE year with an A grade target but was averaging a C in her mocks.
I have also received lots of very positive feedback about my new science tutor, Lorna Hazelby. I received 2 messages from pleased parents thanking me for putting them in touch with such a good tutor.
I also received this lovely testimonial from another parent:
“Hi Kim, I just wanted to send this email letting you know how extremely happy Lewis and myself were with Vicki. Lewis seemed to settle with her straight away and he thought she was great. Such a lovely helpful person. On this note Lewis would like to send her a card and chocs or flowers. Also we did talk about her tutoring our daughter also in September. Fingers crossed her hard work pays off for Lewis! Many thanks, Simone”
